Soong’s House · Bathroom Makeover
A bathroom renovation proposal that replaces an ageing bathtub with an open shower area, exploring two tile palettes through clean lines, simple storage and contrasting black details.
This private residence bathroom makeover reimagines an ageing interior as a brighter, more considered space for everyday use. The proposal replaces the built-in bathtub with a walk-in shower, introducing a slender black-framed glass screen to define the shower area while maintaining an open feel.
A compact wall-mounted basin, circular mirror and floating shelves simplify the interior and provide practical space for daily essentials. White sanitary fittings and black accents create a consistent visual language, with daylight from the window bringing softness to the restrained palette.
Two material approaches explore different expressions of the same layout. White subway tiles paired with a charcoal floor laid diagonally offer a crisp, graphic character, while larger grey tiles create a quieter, more continuous backdrop. Both schemes focus on making a modest bathroom feel more coherent, comfortable and thoughtfully organised.
